I'm Back to Work

Salam to all.

I was on leave for a week. Alhamdulillah. I was so happy to spend more time with my two lil' ones for the whole week. We went jalan-jalan, makan-makan, and I can see both of them were so excited. Insya Allah! I plan to bring them for vacation soon. My choices; A'Famosa Resort, Melaka and Genting Highlands.

I'll be having an interview for Master in Advanced IT, UNIMAS on this coming Friday. Insya Allah! If they approve my Master application, I'm going to take study leave and concentrate on my study. This is my second attempt for Master application. First, I apply at UiTM Sarawak, but they offered me research based Master which I rejected their offer. Hopefully I'll succeed in this one. Ya Allah! Permudahkanlah jalannya bagiku dan berkatilah segala usahaku.

I've a lot of plans for myself and my two lil' ones if I'm taking study leave starting July 2010. Let me share here. For myself; teaching part time, studying part time, and full time mommy to Muhammad and Iman Najiha. For Muhammad; I plan to send him for Maths class @ KUMON, reading class @ The Vital Years and recite Al-Quran class . For Iman Najiha; I just want to spend more time with her.

To all my dear students, the result will be released tomorrow. I'll arrange three sessions for us to meet and consult based on your result as there's a slight drop in previous semester's result. I'm looking forward to see you all and hope we can identify and resolve any problem arising from all of you.

Berubah atau Berhijrah?

Salam to all. I received an email from a good friend this morning. Last week, we chatted about changes in people which can be seen directly or indirectly. I'm referring to someone that I didn't expect to change. Someone whom I respected and admired so much. I never expected him to change as I know he has a strong belief and a very committed person.

But the email really open my heart.

"Orang yang BERUBAH kerana terpaksa adalah MANGSA KEADAAN."

"Orang yang BERHIJRAH kerana manusia adalah MANGSA KERUGIAN."

"Tapi orang yang BERJAYA dan BERUNTUNG adalah orang yang memaksa dirinya untuk berubah demi REDHA ALLAH S.W.T."

Maybe it's true. I cannot blame him for his changes, it's due to surroundings and influence around him. But I'm sad because I really admired him for his strong belief. (sigh)

Well, he likes his new changes. I can see it through his words. So let it be. Insya Allah! God will lighten his heart to improve to a better person. Amin...

Happy Mother's Day

Salam to all. From the bottom of my heart, I'd like to wish HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all gorgeous moms on earth. Especially, to my mom, my late grandma and my mom-in-law.

To my dearest mom, thank you for everything. You're always there for me, through happiness and sorrow of my life. I miss my late grandma, whom I shared a lot of things including my love story. Though she's not here anymore with me, I still can feel her warm love around me. As I know she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchilren very much.

I just wish to be appreciated being a mom. Sometimes people always thought appreciation must be displayed through gifts, presents, etc. But for me, I want an appreciation from my loveD one. I hope one day he'll understand the meaning of being a family with our children. It's something that he needs to understand and appreciate. Life is very short. We must appreciate and enjoy every second of our life. Especially with our family.

Ya Allah! Permudahkanlah segala urusanku. Berikanlah petunjuk dan hidayah kepadaku dan juga pasanganku untuk kami sama-sama mendidik anak-anak kami dengan cemerlang. Amin.

Happy Day

Salam to all. Happy day to everyone! It's the revision week for my students. I'm preparing the final exam papers; Software Development and Human Computer Interaction. Two sets of exam papers with the answer scheme. Hihihi... I need to brainstorm today, lacking ideas on how to set the questions.

My lil' Iman will turn 1 year 4 months next week. So my breastfeeding journey will also turn 16 months next week. Alhamdulillah. 8 more months to go and I'll complete my 2 years breastfeeding with lil' Iman. I'm actually worried if my milk supply is not enough for lil' Iman but it seems the supply is more than enough for her. She loves to eat. Seriously, maybe due to various Shaklee supplements that I consume everyday. I love to see her smile when she enjoyed her meal. Hihihi... I love to eat during my pregnancy with lil' Iman. Perhaps she inherit it from me. I still remember one night (I was 8 months pregnant), I suddenly want to eat steak and it was 9 p.m. Kesian my hubby... He asked me to get ready and we both went out to search for steak. Alhamdulillah. I ate steak and he ate lamb chop. Yummy!

Totally different than her brother, lil' Iman loves to eat but lil' Muhammad doesn't like to eat. So I tried my best to balance lil' Muhammad's nutritional intake. On alternate days, I gave him ESP+his milk, mealshake+his milk, Vit C, MultiVit, and also a combination of jus kurma+saffron+madu+almond. TADA... he's an active kid and a smart boy too!

I plan to go to gym. Hope my hubby wants to join me. It feels better if he's around with me. Coz' I feel uncomfortable to go alone. Else, I want to invite Mae (my colleague). It's great to have at least one visit to the gym in a week. Or two, or three... Hihihi...

Muhammad and My Life

Salam to all. I felt VERY HAPPY for my lil' son, Muhammad. He scored 100% in his spelling test yesterday. Congratulations sayang!

His spelling test was supposed to be on last Wednesday. Unfortunately, Muhammad had fever and my hubby fetched him from school earlier. Being an active kid, I felt sad when I saw him just lying down and kept telling me that he was sick. Alhamdulillah. He recovered last Friday.

I decided to further my study. So I've been looking for potential university to do my Master. I had attended interview and submitted my application. The only problem is no coursework program is offered for Master in Computer Science/IT field right here. A local university offered me to do research for my Master but I rejected their offer.

Talking about my Master decision, I knew a lady for years who I assumed as nice and intelligent. But there's one thing I don't understand about her; she's being too competitive and she'll do anything to make sure she's on top of others in everything. I met her recently. I guess she heard the news that I'll further my Master soon. And she's been telling me on her plan to further her study too. Alright... being a supportive person, I encouraged her as well. She talked about her sponsorship by government, plan on her kids which she thought would be easier to bring over a relative with her to take care of them, her other plans, etc. I asked her on her Master option; either by coursework or by research. AND SURPRISE!!! She didn't even know the difference between coursework and research. VOILA! I'm totally shocked. I said, "How can you simply talk and tell me on your plans if you didn't even know the difference in Master basis?" Being a sweet talker, she really know how to give excuses. At last, I'm the one who explained to her about Master basis and which basis is commonly used for her area. Funny though! Seriously, I doubt she's really keen to make it BIG and even BIGGER than mine. Hihihi...

Nevertheless, her attitude makes me think and realize about life; BE YOURSELF and BE HUMBLE. Insya Allah! I'll make a paradigm shift in my life this year. My priority is me, my lil' prince and my lil' princess.

To my precious Muhammad and Iman Najiha, mommy love both of you very much. Mommy will work harder and smarter to improve our life. Mommy will make sure both of you will get the BEST in everything that Mommy able to provide especially in education.

Untuk suamiku yang tercinta, kita berdua sudah banyak menempuh dugaan sepanjang 8 tahun perkahwinan ini. Anak-anak merupakan anugerah Allah S.W.T. kepada kita berdua. Dengan rasa rendah hati, isterimu ini cuma meminta, letakkan kami di antara keutamaan dalam hidupmu dan hargailah kehadiran kami yang memerlukan perhatian dan kasih sayangmu.

Reunion Lagi

Salam to all. It's our 13th week at college. Students busy with assignments, projects, etc. while we're busy with the final exam preparation.

My heart is a bit cloudy lately. It's difficult to express in words. My mind is cluttered with a lot of things. My work, my personal life, my lil' ones, my students, etc. I think I need a paradigm shift. This is life, right? Just go with the flow. Insya Allah! God will grant us with the best in life.

Anyway, I received sms from my friend, Marina. A mini gathering or reunion at Rasa-Rasa Restaurant with my ex-school mates. Thanks Marina! (I actually copy these photos from her blog. Thanks dear!)

Muhammad Eat Rice!

Salam to all. My son, Muhammad doesn't eat rice. I don't know why but he just doesn't consume rice.

I started to give him porridge since he's 7 months old but he stop eating it when he turned 1 year old. So I gave him bread or noodle though sometimes he can manage not to eat. As extra supplement, I gave him Shaklee mealshake, energizing soy protein, multivitamin and vitamin C which he took on alternate days since last year. Maybe he just prefer to drink his own milk.

I persuaded him and told him the benefits of eating because he's 4 years old already. Then suddenly, he surprised me when he agreed to eat rice last week! Alhamdulillah... I'm the happiest mommy on earth when Muhammad had his first spoon of rice last week.

I prepared chicken soup for him as he loves soup very much. I just wonder, I hate soup when I was pregnant with him before. What a surprise! So I tried to prepare different kind of soup for him. Hopefully my initiatives may help to improve his diet. I want him to have a healthy diet and have a better eating.

My daughter Iman is better in eating. That little princess can consume anything that we eat including whatever food that her grandmother eat. Hihihi...

Ya Allah! Permudahkanlah dan berkatilah segala usahaku. Semoga anak-anakku menjadi anak-anak yang soleh dan solehah, anak-anak yang cemerlang di dunia dan akhirat, anak-anak yang taat dan patuh kepada kedua ibu bapa mereka. Amin!

Honesty in Life

Salam to all. My day starts great today. Alhamdulillah.

My son, Muhammad wake up as usual and as I bathed him this morning, he looked deep into my eyes and said, "Mummy cantik." I smiled and said, "Thank you, sayang." A sweet, simple statement from my son really blossomed my heart. A child's heart is pure. Very pure. It's our responsibility to teach them and guide them in their life.

I've a colleague from other department whom I seldom met. But everytime we met, he'll keep on telling me that he likes the happiness on my face and my smile. He asked me, "Are you always happy like this every day?". I said, "Yes, and I'll give my best to stay happy every day."

I'm just an ordinary person. Like others, I also felt depressed, demotivated, unhappy, etc. But I'm always happy because of my two lil' ones and my family. They cheer up my life. I guess, the other reason is also our intention in life. Intention or "niat" in life is very important and it must be supported with honesty. Honesty is "jujur".

Jujur dalam Islam ialah "shiddiq" iaitu jujur dan benar. Islam menggalakkan umatnya bersikap jujur. Imam al-Ghazali menggariskan sifat "shiddiq" ke dalam 6 jenis:

1. Jujur dalam lisan atau bertutur kata

2. Jujur dalam berniat atau berkehendak

3. Jujur dalam bercita-cita atau berazam

4. Jujur dalam menepati cita-cita

5. Jujur dalam beramal atau bekerja

6. Jujur dalam beragama

Being honest in work is very important. I met people who are very serious in work, but rarely smile and difficult to mingle around. My work involved a lot of communication with people. So I learn how to cope up with different types of attitude. Well, sometimes it really irritates me seeing people who are sweet talker but restless at work. "Sindir menyindir" is common to me. I'm used to it already. Insya Allah! I'll try to avoid all these craps.

So, I'll start my day with my prayer to Allah S.W.T. and a smile. A smile to my loving hubby, my two lil' ones and my parents. I want to have an honest life with my family. So I'll make sure I'm happy at work too.

Mmm... apart from that, balance in emotion and health is important too. I've a friend who is very moody and I can feel her mood swing almost every day. Sometimes, I just wonder how she can cope up being moody every day.

Be cautious with food intake, consume supplement, have enough sleep and enjoy life! Life is very short. I pray to Allah S.W.T. every day to make me stay healthy and live longer so that I manage to watch my two lil' ones grow and to spend my lifetime with my loving hubby. Insya Allah!

Bersangka Baik Sesama Insan

Salam to all. I attended a course conducted by my college last Monday. A one solid day course and full of knowledge sharing by the speakers. There's one session which attracted me so much. It's regarding "Bersangka baik sesama insan". It really captured my attention as my loving hubby always remind me about this. Well, I'm just a human being. Sometimes I tend to have certain perception on certain people.

For example, it really irritates me if suddenly someone approach me to sell something. Or a car suddenly overtake my car. I started to think wisely. The seller is just selling something. It's his or her way to "mencari rezeki". I can reject nicely if I don't want to buy. The driver of the car maybe have an emergency. Why should I bother if that driver overtake my car? The most important thing now is I want to get rid of perception in my mind. Insya Allah! My loving hubby always tell me that if we keep on having perception on people, we cannot live in harmony on this world. Yes, he's absolutely right.

BERSANGKA BAIK SESAMA INSAN (SYEIKH ABDUL QADIR JAILANI)

• Jika kamu bertemu dengan seseorang, maka yakinilah dia lebih baik darimu. Ucapkanlah dalam hatimu, "Mungkin kedudukannya di sisi Allah S.W.T. lebih baik dan lebih tinggi dariku".
• Jika bertemu dengan anak kecil, maka ucapkanlah dalam hatimu, "Anak ini belum bermaksiat kepada Allah S.W.T., sedangkan diriku telah banyak membuat maksiat kepadaNya. Tentu anak ini jauh lebih baik dariku."
• Jika bertemu dengan orang tua, maka ucapkanlah dalam hatimu, "Dia telah beribadah kepada Allah S.W.T. lebih lama dariku. Tentu dia lebih baik dariku."
• Jika bertemu dengan seorang yang berilmu, maka ucapkanlah dalam hatimu, "Orang ini memperoleh kurnia yang tidak akan kuperoleh, mencapai kedudukan yang tidak akan pernah aku capai, mengetahui apa yang tidak aku ketahui dan dia mengamalkan ilmunya. Pasti dia lebih baik dariku."
• Jika bertemu dengan seorang yang bodoh, maka ucapkanlah dalam hatimu, "Orang ini bermaksiat kepada Allah S.W.T. kerana dia bodoh (tidak tahu) sedangkan aku bermaksiat kepadaNya, padahal aku mengetahui akibatnya. Dan aku tidak tahu bagaimana akhir umurku dan umurnya kelak. Dia tentu lebih baik dariku."
• Jika bertemu dengan orang kafir, maka ucapkanlah dalam hatimu, "Aku tidak tahu bagaimana keadaannya kelak, mungkin di akhir usianya dia memeluk Islam dan beramal soleh. Dan mungkin boleh jadi di akhir usia diriku kufur dan melakukan kemungkaran. Na'uzubillah...
