Selamat Menyambut Maal Hijrah 1433H

Assalamualaikum.

5. Amalan membaca selawat Nabi Muhammad S.A.W.
Elok diamalkan setiap hari untuk menjadi amalan harian.

Insya Allah!

A Visit to IT Unit, UiTM Sarawak

Assalamualaikum.

We had a visit to IT Unit, UiTM Sarawak on Thursday, 10 November 2011. Initially, this visit was to introduce the real IT working environment to our students. Plus, the lecturers can observe and learn new things as well. It's beneficial for our teaching actually.

It's a longgg walk and more stairs to climb. Heheheh...

Mr. Mohd. Farid, the Head of IT Unit was doing his explanation.

The long hair kiddo is Ms. Fu Swee Tee and the other lady is Madam Norahima (my Boss).

I like their computer labs. Perfect arrangement and tidy.

The Apple computers look superb! I forgot to snap one pic of them.

Am quite interested with the E-Polling project. A potential project for the final year students.

More explanation, that two small devices are used to produce smart cards.

This is also part of server room.

My favourite slot; Makan Time

Photo session; some students were missing here.

Thank you to Mr. Mohd. Farid and the team! Looking forward to meet all of you again.

Tuesday Blues

Credit to google.com

Assalamualaikum.

Why Tuesday blues not Monday blues? Because...

  • My hectic schedule starts on Tuesday

  • I've a class to teach at 8.00 am from Tuesday till Friday

  • I'm free for the whole Monday then suddenly I've to teach on Tuesday

  • It indicates three more days to Saturday and four more days to Sunday (my weekend classes)

  • I only have four free hours everyday from Tuesday till Friday

  • After work, I need to bring Muhammad and Iman to Kumon class on Tuesday and Friday which another 1 hour to spend outside after work and it can drag me till 7.00 pm every Tuesday and every Friday
P.S. Dear Boss, can I switch my class to 10.00 am next semester? Heheheh...

My Weekend

Assalamualaikum.

It's Muhammad's graduation concert last Saturday and I was struggling with my exam at uni. I managed to complete my paper half an hour earlier but the distance seem to be the barrier. It took me at least 40 minutes to arrive at the concert hall. How sad. Everyone was clapping and cheering when I entered the door. The concert had just finished! Heheheh...

Yet, my precious was doing two performances that day. Luckily, his father, grandfather, grandmother, aunty, uncle, his cousins and his lil' sister were there to support him. It's my sister's kindergarten so the whole family were there. Mr. AJ whispered to me, "Don't worry. Just watch the video. He did very well."

No class on last Sunday. Cheers! I really ENJOYED my Sunday. We brought the kids to Giant, Batu 10 and Boulevard Kuching. In Kuching, there are two huge Giant supermarket opened recently. One is situated near my office at Tabuan and one is at Batu 10. I love their business concept as the supermarket is spacious and you can buy fresh bread right there. The supermarket is very big. Love it!

Muhammad and Iman love to play at the kid's playground, Boulevard's top floor. It's a huge space with several kid's play equipment. You can actually see a crowd of parents and children inside. Entrance fee; Children: RM1 per person and Adult: FREE. My nephew, Farhan was with us that Sunday too. After two hours, we went home. Kids were so tired as my lil' ones slept from evening till this morning.

Right now, I'm juggling with two assignments. One is Computational Linguistic and another is Quantitative Methods. Last few weeks am so cramped with works, teaching, exams, etc. Alhamdulillah. Life is always full of Allah's S.W.T. blessings. ;-D

Happy working to everyone!

Am I Being Too Selfish?

Assalamualaikum.

For the past few days, lil' Iman cried every morning before I went to work. She requested me to stay at home and play with her. It made me wondering. Am I being too selfish for my kids?

To be in between motherhood life and career life is the most difficult situation for most mothers. As I mentioned before, I work 5 days a week and I go to my classes every Saturday and Sunday. When I'm home, I will shutdown every single items related to my work and my study. Just concentrate with my lil' ones. But yet, both my lil' ones are still complaining. It's difficult, yes. It's torturing, yes. I've always wanted to expand my career. So I'm taking further step to enhance them though I've to sacrifice a lot.

But yet, I'm still wondering.

Am I being too selfish? Huhuhu...

Sakit Kepala

Assalamualaikum.

  • Jumlah tidur seimbang

  • Pemakanan seimbang

  • Bersenam

  • Berurut (saya suka reflexology)

  • etc.

Memang sukar untuk menyeimbangkan segala-galanya. Do it in moderate then. So, I've new targets to achieve now. Heheheh...

So, saya mesti bersikap positif.

Being with positive people will make you a positive person. Let's be positive in life, people!

Revision:
Positive+Positive=Positive
Negative+Negative=Positive in Negative
Positive+Negative=Positive or Negative???

No specific answer, depends on the value of positive and negative. Which one would you prefer?

Focus on The Positive

Where does your energy go?
On what you focus your thoughts matter.
Worry is focusing your energy on problems, not solution.
Train yourself to be more aware of the focus of your thoughts.
Focus on projects and things that make you happy,
not on stuffs that drain you.

Stay Positive!

Paris, Me Voila!

At Eiffel Tower, Paris
Classic statue in Paris city
Classic building in Paris city
Assalamualaikum,
This is the final part~Paris, Me Voila! In Paris, we stayed at Kyriad Hotel Paris Bercy Village. It's a strategic hotel as there are a few HALAL restaurants and supermarket nearby.
More photos taken for the scenery instead. Well, we visited several places here including Champs-Elysees, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, and my sisters were keen to do shopping. If you love fashion especially handbag, shoes, etc., then Paris is the right place to shop! Paris is a very big city and beautiful of course! The buildings are classic and have luxury design.
Wonderful!

Paris is shopping heaven for fashion lovers! I grabbed a few handbags as well here and it's tempting. Honestly, the price is much much cheaper and it's drooling! (sigh)
There are several shopping malls such as Galeries Lafayette Department Store and Le Printemps. You can even shop at their fashion high streets for icon brands such as Chanel, Dior, Hermes, LV, etc. Anyway, I just name a few but I'm not into them as these brands are too expensive for me. Maybe in future perhaps! Hehehe... Dior cosmetics/skincare are worth to try. I'm now using their Diorsnow range for my skincare and makeup.
I've completed my travelling journal here. Though they're not that detailed but I hope you enjoy them. London is my favourite and I plan to return to London next year. I heard my dad is planning another journey to New Zealand and Tasmania. Most probably I'm not joining them as I'm saving for my (our) London journey. Just the four of us ~ Me, Mr. AJ, lil' Muhammad and lil' Iman Najiha.
Good night and enjoy your weekend!

Do You Drive With Your Cellphone? Please Don't!

Assalamualaikum.

Salam Jumaat to everyone. To all my friends, sorry for the long delay on my final part; Paris. Am quite hectic lately.

As Mr. AJ went travelling this week, I've to depart from home earlier in order to send Muhammad to kindy. It's a looonnnnggg journey as my office and Muhammad's kindy is located from one end to another end. But it's nearer to Mr. AJ's office of course. It's not about the distance that I wish to comment BUT instead, it's about the drivers' behaviour on the road.

Kuching city has lots of roundabout. BIG roundabout which as big as a small football field. So you can imagine how big it is, right? Morning means traffic jam everywhere. People send kids to school, people drive to work, etc. At the roundabout, I encountered this several times; the driver was on the cellphone, either talking or sms-ing. And...

IT'S ANNOYING!

Well, I'm concerned about safety. My safety, their safety and other drivers' safety. When they're busy on the cellphone, they tend to drive sooo slowww and controlled their cars carelessly. I mean, "HELLLOOO!!!! I'M DRIVING WITH MY KID BEHIND YOU!!!"

So please, don't drive with your cellphone. Keep it aside! You can reply the call or sms later. Just remember...

SAFETY COMES FIRST!

See ya!

Scotland~Edinburgh & Glasgow

Assalamualaikum.
Happy weekend everyone! Selamat Menyambut Hari Raya Aidiladha untuk semua.
On Day 7, we flew to Edinburgh, Scotland via British Airways. Mmm... as the London Heathrow airport is very strict upon liquid on flight, we had to dispose all Muhammad and Iman Najiha's milk in my backpack. Luckily, Mr. AJ kept several bottles in our luggage for extra stock. Just a few minutes before departure, Muhammad asked me with tears in his eyes," Why those people dispose my milk? Don't they know that I need to drink my milk?" Mr. AJ replied," It's ok, Muhammad. I'll buy you more milk once we reach the hotel k." Honestly, I prefer KLIA and Dubai International Airport. They really understand the needs of mothers and children.;-D
Upon arrival, we went to Holiday Inn Hotel, Edinburgh and stayed there for four days and three nights. Just for extra information, they served Malaysian's cuisine but we don't take any of them as they don't have HALAL certification. The good news is, you can find a few HALAL restaurants nearby the hotel. Our favourite spot was an Arab Muslim restaurant which just a few minutes walk from the hotel. Next to our hotel are Edinburgh Zoo and Royal Botanic Garden. So this hotel is very strategic. The kids really enjoyed their time. Edinburgh and Glasgow is super cold!!!
1Malaysia!
On Day 8, we travelled to Glasgow for one full-day trip. The journey was around 1 hour 45 minutes via coach. We went ronda2 at Glasgow city then to Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. Ticket price is upon request only. There are 22 state-of-the art galleries displaying around 8000 objects. Kids will definitely love this place. Apart from that, there's a library and research centre here.

After Glasgow, we went ronda2 at Edinburgh city. Love the city so much!!!

Splendid!

Dad went shopping with the kids

Early morning on Day 9, we were alarmed by the hotel safety warning. I'd just taken my bath and a hotel staff knocked our door. He reminded us to go down and join the others at the car park. The weather was super cold that morning. It's sooo breezy and the wind blew strongly. I really thought there's a storm coming but it seems just a small alarm. A small fire occured in the hotel kitchen and it triggered the hotel safety warning. Alhamdulillah. Chaotic but luckily nobody was harmed or injured.
Hotel guests gathered at the hotel car park

Am so kelam kabut that morning! A hotel staff helped me to carry lil' Iman to the hotel car park.

Kids loved the fire engine!
Our next destination was Edinburgh Castle. It's super duper cold and breezy up here. My advice; wear extra clothing. Ticket price is also upon request only. There are a few places of interest inside to visit but you might be unable to bring in your camera to some of them; The Great Hall, National War Museum Scotland, Prisons of War, Royal Palace, Royal Scots Regimental, Scottish National War Memorial, The Crown Room and you can also have the biggest view of Edinburgh, Scotland from the Argyle Battery. That's why most of my pictures were taken outside.

Day 10 was our last day in Scotland. Our last destination was Paris.
Paris, me voila!
